Two options are being offered this term –

 


 

  • Wednesday evening term classes – 4 or 8 weeks

  • Monday morning ‘Relax and Restore’ course  – 4 weeks starting 5 March

 


 

Summer Yoga  … Meditative & breath centred

Wednesday 7.30pm

 

Our classes are tailored to cater for the needs of each student, whether beginner students or advanced. They are designed to offer safe modifications or variations within the practices depending on the needs and capabilities of each individual.
Kate teaches ‘self awareness’ through ‘introspective observation’. This enables each individual to tune into their own practice as a ‘witness’ or ‘silent observer’, therefore learning to recognise what the body needs at each given moment. This helps us become less focused on achieving the goal as we learn to let go of the inner struggle and surrender to the process. It is here that we can learn so much about ourselves and our behavior. Not only is this approach helpful during a yoga class but also in our day to day lives.

In these classes the emphasis is on creating a safe, nurturing space where the following yogic practices are explored – 

  • asana (postures – both static & dynamic)

  • pranayama (breathing practices)

  • mantra  (healing sound vibration)

  • dharana (meditation practices including mindfulness for clarity & peace)

  • Yoga Nidra (deep, restorative practice done lying down)

These practices are taught systematically to move & re-balance stagnant energy within the body & mind.

These practices when taught as part of a balanced class are designed to – reduce stress, harmonise emotions, increase energy, reduce blood pressure, increase immune function, improve digestion, increase flexibility & strength & aid overall health.

 


 

Wednesday Class details –

  • Wednesdays –  from 7 March for 4 weeks – 7.30pm – 9.00pm  @ Hazelbrook Uniting Church, Great Western Highway, Hazelbrook.

  • Cost  – $84

  • What to bring  –  a yoga mat & a light blanket (for yoga nidra) plus any other props required

** Note **   if you are a new student or need to update your information, Please come along 10 minutes before class to fill in a ‘New Student form’ and if you have any health concerns, clearance from your health professional may be required.

 

 


 

yoga relax 2

‘Relax & Restore’ 4 week Course

using Yoga Nidra & other restorative practices

4 weeks @ Hazelbrook – starts Monday, March 5th

for ‘Complete Relaxation & Restoration’

 

This course will involve gentle asana (yogic postures),  simple pranayama (breathing practice) & the lying down practice of Yoga Nidra. There will also be use of sacred sound through mantra to aid healing & restoration.

Complete beginners through to regular practitioners are welcome.

  • It is said that 30mins of yoga Nidra is equal to 2- 3 hrs of deep sleep.
